Rex W. Johnson is a seasoned Financial Advisor with over four decades of experience in the financial services industry. Born in Manistee, MI, raised in Huntington, WV, and having also lived in Farmington Hills, MI, Rex now resides in Cincinnati, Ohio. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Xavier University and an Honorary Bachelor of Arts Degree from Marshall University.
Rex's keen interest in investing was inspired by his grandfather, who owned a successful lumber business and invested in the market. His approach to financial planning is holistic, focusing on getting to know his clients and their families on a personal level.
Rex began his career working as a sales representative for Whirlpool Credit Corp in Huntington, WV and quickly rose to Wholesale Credit Manager in the Cincinnati branch. He soon embarked on a career in insurance and financial services with Prudential, becoming a sales manager in his first year. Turning his attention primarily to securities, Rex joined PaineWebber (later UBS) in 1992 as a financial advisor. In 2002, Rex opened a small independent practice and grew it from $20 million in assets under management to approximately $300 million today. He is now a partner at TruNorth Wealth Advisors, LLC, where he specializes in retirement planning and continues to provide personalized, quality service to his clients.
Rex has been married to Becky for 45 years, and they have three grown children and eight grandchildren. Rex is actively involved in his community, serving as the Chair of the Marshall University Foundation Investment Committee, President of the Legendary Run Community Association, member of the Big Green Scholarship Foundation at Marshall University and a member of the Anderson Hills Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has also held leadership roles, including Past President of the Society of Yeager Scholars at Marshall University and Past President of the Marshall University Cincinnati Alumni Chapter. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and traveling.
